Backpacks are so much better for carrying things than shoulder bags or a bag that you carry in one hand. They let you spread the weight evenly across your body so that your back and abdominal muscles can support the weight. The trouble is that this only works as long as the backpack isn’t overloaded and it’s designed properly. You also need to pack, carry and lift it properly.
