What is Chiropractic?

There is a scientific concept that says every living thing has the inborn ability to be healthy and stay healthy. Chiropractic is a system of health care based on that concept.

Chiropractic grew from the clinical observations of an American called D.D. Palmer at the beginning of last century. A man way before his time, DD suggested that there was a link between the spine and the nervous system. The nervous system is the control system for your whole body. If spinal movement is abnormal then it will irritate the nervous system making body functions abnormal as well. In fact he went so far as to suggest that in many circumstances, disease can take hold simply because of this interference to normal body function over a period of time.

At the heart of chiropractic is the spinal adjustment. This is a way of restoring normal spinal movement so that your nervous system can get back to doing what it’s supposed to be doing. Unlike mainstream medicine, chiropractic is a drugless and non-invasive treatment. Instead of just masking or reducing symptoms it has the potential to restore your ability to maintain good health.
